PROJECTS

AARDMAN ACADEMY

Here are compilations of the work I produced while enrolled on two of the Aardman Academy courses, Stop Motion 2 and Stop Motion Professional.
Stop Motion 2 is a 12 week course taught online which focusses on teaching fundamentals of animated performance where a final project is produced at the end and Stop Motion Professional is a 5 week intensive course that takes place at Aardman Animations studios in Bristol and teaches more advanced stop motion techniques, such as lifting heavy objects, walking up a steep hill and dancing to music.

'LITTLE MONSTERS' SERIES

Little Monsters is a stop motion web-series I'm producing independently about two horned creatures who live together in a dungeon and getting up to various activities, including playing board games to encountering vampires.

Creative inspirations for Little Monsters include other stop motion media such as The Very Small Creatures for its simple character designs and non-verbal storytelling, The Trap Door for the dark dungeon setting, Mad Monster Party? because it put classic horror characters in a comedy setting.

The series is on my YouTube channel, Luke the Animator, and more episodes are scheduled to be produced.

CHEF GUSTAV

My short film I created during my postgraduate degree about a snobby chef forced to fight a mischievous cat who will stop at nothing to steal the food he is cooking.
Shot in multiplane and animated with plasticine, Chef Gustav is stop-motion animation combined with techniques of 2D animation, heavily inspired by comedic and slapstick violence from cartoons such as Tom and Jerry, Ren and Stimpy and the works of classic 2D animator Tex Avery.

DANCING ALIEN
